Voluntarios o consentidos
Involuntarios, no consentidos o compulsivos

Internment criteria The hospitalization of a patient in a Mental Health Hospital is difficult due to the emotional and material problems that its processing generates in daily practice, especially with regard to transportation and coordination.  On the basis of current legislation and taking into account the patient's consent, 2 types of psychiatric hospitalizations are considered: Voluntary or consented Involuntary, non-consensual or compulsive Involuntary hospitalizations should be considered an exceptional measure, when the subject cannot give valid consent due to her illness.

Tipos de internamiento psiquiátricos Voluntary or consented It is the most common hospitalization, which is established by direct contract between the patient and the Center, and which both parties can terminate without further ado. It is the one that takes place with the free consent of the patient, mentally competent, who asks to be admitted to a Mental Health Hospital. The majority of psychiatric hospitalizations carried out correspond to this assumption. In them, the mere manifestation of the will of the patient who requests admission or states his agreement with it, equates the situation to any other therapeutic action, and makes judicial authorization unnecessary and presents surveillance. At any time, the patient can request voluntary discharge. Involuntary, not consented or compulsive
